Are you searching for the best games released for the next-gen Playstation 4? Maybe you are making your Christmas list and you need to know what to ask Santa for this season or maybe you are shopping for the most discriminating gamer. We have done the legwork for you.
Whether you or your favorite gamer are Indy fans or prefer to play in the role of the first-person shooter, the must-have games are already a bumper crop, and the year isn’t even over yet. Based on customer reviews, feedback from gamers and the usual vocal critics, we have selected the top 10 best PS4 games for the year.
1. Fallout 4
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Standard Edition
3. Star Wars: Battlefront, Deluxe Edition
The official release of Star Wars: Battlefront occurred on November 17, 2015, but plenty of testers had been busy during the beta period exploring planets and conducting missions. Testers reported that each wave of enemies makes the game progressively more challenging. However, you may find some attacks predictably repetitive if you play solo. Pick up a co-op partner to change the missions up a bit. Purchase the Deluxe edition to get five additional in-game items.
4. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
5. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD
6. Bloodborne
7. NBA 2K16
Hardcore gamers say that NBA 2K16 has the best AI of any sports game on the market. With a hefty collection of new modes, and the Spike Lee feature length MyCareer narrative, NBA 2K16 does not disappoint as this year’s installment of the best sports franchise ever created.
8. Grand Theft Auto V
The higher resolution graphics make Grand Theft Auto V even more spectacular than earlier versions. The layers of detail are outstanding and the scenery is breathtaking in the most elaborate open world ever conceived. With the next-generation PS4, you can now play Grand Theft Auto V in first-person mode, changing the entire perception of gameplay.
9. FIFA 16, Standard Edition
Though Fifa 16 does not have any major overhauls over last year’s release, players will notice some definite improvements. With stronger defense play than FIFA 15 and better career modes, most players find the changes add excitement and defense skill to this year’s game. AI is more refined, with restricted angles of attack from AI teammates. The new Draft mode puts the Ultimate Team in reach.
10. UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection
Critics say if you have never played UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection on PS4, you need to do so ASAP. This collection bundles all three iterations in the Nathan Drake trilogy into one experience. Smooth transitions have been inserted between titles, and the graphics, textures and lighting are all improved, as has the character models. UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection is expected to be PS4‘s biggest draw for the 2015 holiday season.
